About (circa 2007-2008)

Bonnie Chiu's Facebook profile

ashke is a student. Specifically from NUS. But she also used to be from TJC, TKGS, PVPS and SIS. (She’s not sure if the first identity she should have thought of herself was that of a school-going person but it is true that a lot of her life revolved around schools.) She is going to graduate soon and thinks that she’s going to miss this part of her life a lot.

ashke loves gaming, anime and manga. But she hasn’t been watching much anime lately. (She currently hates ODEX a bit more than usual.) She is currently on hiatus from WoW. Sigh. She’s really fond of her new Nintendo DS Lite and Wii, but particularly her NDS since it can play so many fun games! She isn’t really indulging on her manga habit but does occassionally read one or two books online.

ashke has an insatiable appetite for books. She is a bibliophile who would buy a library if she could. Several, in fact. When she has the chance, she wants to go to the UK to visit that fabled town of second-hand bookshops. And fortunately, she has had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Washington, DC in the summer of 2007 to visit the Library of Congress. Her first love will always always always be books.

ashke doesn’t want to get married or have children. She also has much sympathy for the quirkyalone philosophy. She likes to think of relationships as a kind of experimental lifestyle, of which the natural state of ashke is to be single. However, since she does want to try these things at least once, she’s now on the look out for test subject(s).

ashke knows her blog serves no other purpose than to record her personal thoughts and musings. A friend of her’s has aptly described blogs as a ‘pensieve’ which is a repository of one’s thoughts and memories. She generally blogs about things that are happening in her life, sometimes for the benefit of her friends. She also prefers to write when she’s in need of a way to figure out or make sense of things in her life. She’s also realized that writing serves as a record of her past and (though selective) it always delights her to go back to her older posts. Speaking of older posts, she (still) has not been tagging them and releasing them back into the Internet. She knows she should finish it one of these days. Why else would she choose WordPress as her blogging tool?

ashke admires those who are able to write beautifully. Yawningbread, Mr Wang, Grant McCracken, takchek, Agagoogaa (though in his case, his selections of things to copy and paste is good), MollyMeek and Xeno Boy first comes to mind for bloggers. Please have a click and let their words work their magic.
