And next week I’ll be going to help out with the FIC (Freshmen Inauguration Ceremony).
Not Rag & Flag though. Going to support my own hall, heheh…
I guess it’s a packing weekend for me then. I’ll be going home tomorrow. I should really call my mom today.
And hello, 早安. I hardly write any posts in the morning anymore.
You know, it’s a funny thing but I unconsciously used Chinese yesterday! Sigh, I wonder where that came from?
Sometimes, I think it’s a little weird that I speak Cantonese at home but refuse to speak anything other than English outside (okay, not that extreme but you get my point…) Man, I’m weird. I guess I’m not too good at Mandarin since I don’t get much practice. I’m fairly good at reading anything that is modern though (like, not poems from 100000 years ago). Read too much Chinese-translated manga, heheh. So my spoken and written Chinese is cannot make it while my reading is just fine. So you might say that my understanding is pretty good, just that it’s a one way street when it comes to communication..?
Thankfully, my friends speak English for the most part. Yay, all the more reason to love you guys.
My parents worry that we aren’t proficient enough at Chinese. I guess they have a point. Although, currently, in my everyday life, I have no or not much difficulty in getting through life without Mandarin.
That’s it. I know I started points that I’m not going to elaborate or finish. Maybe another day when I don’t need to go help clean up at the MPSH.
(I wish I could learn more Cantonese though. All I ever speak is just good enough for home. I hardly have a vocabulary to speak to any extent.)
