V for Vendetta
The Law Club had organised a preview of V for Vendetta and I went with XZ and Xavier to it.
Oh hmm. I didn’t read the comic but I did read Watchmen and was sort of expecting a story along the same vein. Also attracted because of the 1984-esque world it offered. And it was $5 which was very very good.
ashke, though you may not want to be. Feelings unrequited can’t be forced when they’re not there and maybe one day I’ll recouncile that and not feel for you anymore. Until then… –>—
I can’t wait for the next chapter to Skip Beat! Sometimes I wished I didn’t give my books away (it was rather slow and soap opera-ish in the beginning). I guess the mangaka would want to dwell on how that other guy’s going to develop feelings for her, then her ambivalence and the resulting cockfight. Hah. Predictable stuff. But still, it’s pretty hilarious.

Read my dose of Fulghum these two days. Such good, uplifting stuff. I only have Maybe (Maybe Not) (but I can’t find it anywhere these days, someone must have taken it) and True Love. Which isn’t by him, not really. He just collected short love stories that people have sent him or told him. And writes unifying comments in each section.
You know, I should really include Robert Fulghum as one of my all-time favourite writers (essayist) because I always go back to his books.

Which reminds me. I haven’t lost my love for fantasy. I re-read Magic’s Price about Vanyel and Stefan and his last stand against Leareth and it felt so brand new again. Misty rocks.

And you know, Ghost in the Shell probably attracted me all the more because I had read Misty books about the Mindreading Heralds. She (along with McCaffrey in Pern, and The Rowan, et al), gave me a first taste of telepathy which is a fascinating concept in fantasy and/or sci-fi.
Yes, I’m obsessed with relating everything with Ghost in the Shell, partly because I’m doing the project on it but mostly because it’s a very very cool anime. Cool in thought, action, etc. I just wish I could get the manga someday and read what Masamune had to say.

That’s all I guess. Off to bed now. Good night!
